Ever wondered how you can add value to your business?

Over the last decade, the UK has seen a huge rise in the number of private rental properties and HMO’s. Several years ago, a study revealed that one of the most common complaints received by landlords concerned black mould in the living accommodation.

Black or condensation mould will colonise both old and new properties and is a symptom of modern living. Unused or little used rooms are seldom heated like the rest of the building and ventilation is generally kept to a minimum to prevent heat loss. We now shower more than bathe and wet clothes are dried over radiators. All of this creates the perfect conditions for moulds to thrive by filling the atmosphere with moisture.

The causes can be cured by introducing ventilation and by making tenants aware of the need to keep building fabric warm to stave off condensation. However, the visible symptoms of the problem, the black mould, can be eliminated immediately. So called kitchen and bathroom paints may give some relief, but to be sure the mould doesn’t re-appear, you need a paint specifically formulated for the job. ACS Antimould Emulsion is the best answer. It kills mould. It contains two powerful biocides and is registered under the Control of Pesticides Regulations by the HSE. Many others aren’t

Treat the surface with the ACS Mould Wash Concentrate, diluted with water, allow it to dry and then simply re-decorate with two coats of ACS Antimould Emulsion. And, if the mould is ingrained or the surfaces stained, apply an initial coat of Zinsser Bulls-Eye 123 or Rust Oleum Pegaprim Xpress stain blocking paint. That’s how easy it is.

As a decorator, it’s a service you can offer now, without the need for extra, costly equipment or training.
