Internal facades can often be chalky and friable, shedding surface dust to cause disruption and inconvenience.
ACS Surface Binder binds and stabilizes chalky, dusty and friable to provide a well-bound substrate on freshly exposed or porous stonework and brickwork, such as brick vaults. It is an unique water dilutable concentrate
The product is suitable for application to both damp and alkaline substrates, including limestone and lime pointing.
Treated surfaces are water repellent and will resist the formation of efflorescent salts.
How to treat internal facades for dusting
Preparation
- Clean down the surface with a stiff bristle brush to remove all dust, dirt, loose and flaking material.
- Vacuum clean to remove any remaining material.
- Make good any defects and re-point any joints, if required.
Application
- Add 1 part ACS Surface Binder to 9 parts water and mix thoroughly.
- Apply two coats, saturating the surface by low volume irrigation flooding, starting at the top of the area and working downwards.
- The second coat should be applied whilst the first application is still wet (wet-on-wet).
- Clean all equipment with water.
- Allow 28 days for the surface binding to take place.
